Grace & Tom got married this weekend in Poynton. Alex and I have been wanting to shoot a wedding at St Georges in Poynton for a long time, every time we drive past on a warm sunny day I envision how I’d shoot the outdoorsy confetti shots. Alas the weather in the UK had a different plan this weekend. We managed a few quick shots under the Lych gate before darting to Wilmslow to the very cool, super sheek venue, The Colony. The best thing about a rainy day wedding is that you truly keep everyone in one place and the atmosphere thrives! Grace & Tom had three different food trucks serving up the most delicious wedding breakfast from pies to pasta with bagels inbetween it was a magnificent carb fest of deliciousness and (with the brides permission) we gorged! There was no excuse to go hungry, everyone was catered for and I can honestly say I’ve never felt so well fed at a wedding! Despite the relatively torrential rain, as the food was served the clouds broke so that everyone could eat and I managed to sneak Grace & Tom off for a few portraits! I’m so pleased that this lovely couple had a moment of dry weather to grab some shots in the natural light. They had put together a day full of thought and love and you could see just from scanning a room that everyone was loving it and them, as we left the atmosphere was reaching 100% and I can only imagine the fun that followed.
